Peace of mind is the state of being calm, relaxed and when there gives you a feeling of balanced personality. Though meaning of it varies differently with different person. For instance some has peace of mind living alone some has while surrounding with people, some thinks peace depends upon the place some thinks it depends on the person itself.
I will clear this doubt, for example for peace when you join some meditation center or go to some trip or eat your favorite food but all this do not give peace because when try excess of these you get irritated hence the peace lies within you. We passes through different ages and so the demand for peace of mind changes over these stages. I have categorized them under following heads:
- Childhood stage: in this children sense peace with love, food, caring which they get from their family members. You can look around yourself the children who are getting these they remain happy at ease and stand out from those who has difficult childhood.
- Adolescence stage: here the person sense source of peace from the point, that their point of view is understand by their friends and family or not. They are in transition stage and so much emotional upturn they have to see, management of these decides their peace.
- Adulthood stage: reaching till stage person have involved himself in so mass that he even unable to find himself forget about peace. So one can see peace at this stage with work life balance they have, the family, relationship in which they are. If all these things are good then person is also at peace in most of the cases.
- Old age stage: at this stage person see peace as mean of good health, life security and the amount of spiritual activity they are involved in.
Obstacle to peace of mind.
- Trying to control things which are not in their control, yes most of us do not aware about our capability we want each and everything under our control which is humanly impossible. They forget to remember they are not God but a small human species in billion of species on this earth.
- Too materialistic, peace of mind is natural phenomenon but we human make wall around self with excess money, pleasure, power, beauty and so on. These will always hamper your peace and you will keep on wondering for the same.
- Over Attachments, we attach ourself to the person, place or thing if anyone of them left we loose our peace of my mind. These should be avoided in any way to get calm state of mind.
- No self control, less or no control on our feelings, ideas, wants, which makes us to run behind amassing wealth, power, prestige and what not.
- Overthinking our mental state is such that if do not train our mind to be in present and think for the same it will overthink about the situation of future and affect the mind peace.
Impact of peace of mind.
- On health: good mind helps to grow healthy body. If there is no peace then many health problems like heart diseases, mental trauma and other chronic disease will overpower you. So for good health and well being it is very important to be at peace.
- On relationship: peace and relationship is correlated if one goes wrong then other will automatically never do well. So for your happiness and also for your loved ones it become utmost important to be at peace of mind.
Steps to get peace of mind.
There are not so hard and fast rule of getting it because it lies within you and you have to be aware enough to activate the same. I will certain steps which you can improvise according to your conditions.
- Think positive: its a very general word but has immense power if you apply this you will automatically lessen the problem of chaos in your mind.
- Work to live not vice versa: you should maintain a healthy work life balance. Work as much in day that no hamper your peace and sound sleep at night.
- Make realistic goals: meaning set goals according to your capabilities because goals are unlimited but you and the time you have is limited so choose wisely.
- Add physical activity to routine: one should give at least 30 minutes to 1 hour daily for yoga or exercise or the activity which they like and make their mind reboot.
- Connect to your roots: always in touch with your family, friends and to your culture it will enhance your peace.
- Follow spiritualism: you can get peace by reading holy books or joining some clubs or visiting the holy places often.

Peace of mind is very important one should not search externally but give yourself quality time and try to see internally.
